George Bush Inconvenienced Me!

George Bush was in Kuwait for 2 days.  I know portion of 6th ring were closed yesterday for something related to this visit, but here is my experience:

Get to work early because the gates will close at a certain time.  We tried to get breakfast but all the facilities in a certain portion of our work site were closed because the President was going to be close by.  I had to settle on Green Bean coffee for breakfast.  Their food stuffs taste horrible!  I was at work at 6am, and finally around 10:45am I go ask one of the “block the road and enforce the rules” people if I can go get some food.  It turns out only the main roads were closed and the side roads were available.  There were also restaurants and a shopping area in another portion of the work site that were opened because G.W. wasn’t going to pass by very close.  Originally we were told that no travel on site would be permitted between a certain time frame.

Right now it is shortly after noon and I was able to go buy a sandwich from Subway.  Much less pissy then I was earlier.  But still, the president inconvenienced me this morning and made me feel I would starve to death.  I would have rather been stuck in traffic for hours with food in the car.  Sigh.
