Rushed Workout
Unfortunately that is what I had today. I goofed around the first part of my lunch so I was a little rushed at the gym. I tried to make the best of it though. I like to do a combination of jogging and running for about 20-25 minutes and then lift some weights, but I had to do a highly condensed version today. Leave it to me to make the best of things though.
I put the treadmill into random hill mode so the incline was varied from 2.0 to 15, 0 on the 5.5mph and up speeds, 15 for the last 3.5. Cooldown was 0 of course.
- 3.5mph (3 mins)
- 5mph (1min)
- 5.5mph (1min)
- 6.5mph (1min)
- 7mph (2min)
- 3.5mph (3min)
- Cooldown (3.5 or less) (3min)
I went to the crunch machine after that. You basically rest the outside of your biceps on a rest and hold on to a handle while using your abdominal muscles to perform a crunch with varying levels of weight resistance.
- 15x 60lbs
- 15x 80lbs
- 15x 100lbs
Decide to jet over to the lat pulldown machine after that. I prefer to do 10x per set for these when I am in a pinch for time, but I bump up the weight a little.
- 10x 90lbs
- 10x 100lbs
- 10x 110lbs
That was my compacted workout. I take about 30 seconds rest in between reps and I vary my treadmill alot. Hopefully tomorrow I can get to the grind and not goof off as much so I can do more. I was jamming to the sounds of Three Days Grace, Slipknot, and Linkin Park for today’s workout.
On the plus side, I am actually starting to notice a difference in my body, and so is the wife. When I work out I do not focus as much on the weight as the overall shape my body is starting to take. When you lift weights, you gain muscle mass, especially if you are adding that much needed protein into your diet. I’ve actually gained weight up to 200lbs over the past couple of weeks, even with the healthier eating. I look better though, so I am happy.
The Wii Fit should be here soon, to give me a little extra cardio. The DDR for Wii does that as well, but the whole Yoga aspect seems rather fun.
