Doesn’t California also recognize gay marriage even if the couples were from other countries or states?

California has a domestic-partnership registration law, but I am unclear on the rights they have. I would guess they recognize legal gay marriage from other states. This is California, and they are very liberal for the most part.

New Hampshire, Vermont, New Jersey and Connecticut permit civil unions, while California has a domestic-partner registration law. More than a dozen other states give same-sex couples some legal rights, as do some other countries.
