To Teflon or Not to Teflon…

…that is the question.  I remember in 2004 the big hubbub about DuPont and teflon.  There was a class-action lawsuit from 50000 or so people and it was settled for $107.6 million. 

I’ve read alot of things that say teflon is safe, and others that say it is not safe.  I don’t cook with metal spoons in teflon so I do not scrape it.  I use wooden spoons or plastic spoons in my metal pots.

Does anyone else out there cook with teflon (non-stick pans)?  Do you prefer regular cast-iron or metal pans over it?
