And The Search Continues
It’s only been a couple of weeks in the new apartment, but we have already decided to find another place. Just small things, the other folks in the building being noisy, and the harris not being reliable when it comes to doing something when he says. A few hours late is one thing, but 3 days late and pretending it’s ok is another. Lots of other people in the building are also not happy. So, after searching ewaseet.com this afternoon, we have a collection of numbers to call.
We looked at 3 places last night. One was too small, another was decent sized for 1 bedroom (we want 2), but the apartment across the hall had at least 20 pairs of sandals outside in a shoe holder. I’m guessing alot of people live there, and since they were all adult sized shoes, I’m guessing it’s a large number of adult men doing the communal thing. We did have one that we were satisfied with price and size wise, but it is only the building manager’s hope that MAYBE in the next 1-2 months they will have an apartment come open. That’s not a chance we want to take.
Salwa may be in the cards, but I think we are going to try to stay in the Egaila/Mangaf/Mahboula area. The prices are high for alot of places due to the wonderful expat companies here and the astounding prices they pay for rent. A few friends lucked out and happened to get openings that were 250-275 or so and were 3bedroom/3bathroom in decent buildings with other expat tenants.
I’m not set on having an expat only tenant list, but I don’t want to be in a building that has clusters of indian/pakistani people living in the same rooms. I’m not racist, but face it, cleanliness varies from culture to culture, and I don’t want my wife in a building like that, especially if she wants to go out to the baqala or something during the day. (Cluster dwellings of adult men and a women that is 20 and very attractive = I might have to kill someone) It’s an exaggeration, but takes no deep thought to see the concern.
Anyway, the search continues…

Don’t worry, you’ll find a good place cos u deserve one
Awwwww, TY! A friend of mine is leaving contract and had a nice 1bedroom, so we are probably gonna take that. He is just going to give me the keys instead of clearing the right way, so I can just say “I’ll inventory it and clean it up, let me move in,” and I hope they say it’s ok. I will know Thursday
