New Apartment Woes
After finally finding a place and getting the price correct, we are now finding little things that are irritating us. The washer, for one, doesn’t work the best in the world and sometimes gets stuck on the cycles. Secondly, the stove was changed out for an electric one, but there is no outlet in that portion of the kitchen. Third, and last, it takes 3-4 minutes for the water to get hot once you turn the shower on. yes, the hot water heater is on, and it is on hot.
If these things are fixed within the next 48 hours (I will accept a valid explanation for the last one, but wasting water just sucks) I do plan on staying there. If not, expect an informative post on one more building people should not look into staying.
As a bonus, on Exit 209 (second 209 coming from Salmiya, first 209 coming from Fahaheel), there is a building that has just opened. Beautiful balconies, awesome furniture, decent location. They want 450KD for the rent, and the apartment is too small to warrant that. There is no washer/dryer inside. There are 3 apartments per floor. Each design has one major pitfall. Sink almost over toilet, laid out like a maze, or the balcony off the second bedroom. Both huge concessions, and for 450KD, it’s too much to ask. I wish they would have actually given me the name of the building :( It’s across from Fintas Co-op, next to Shaheen Towers (across dirt parking lot), and next to a small restaurant/mini market, right on the road as you exit 30. Stay far far away! If you want to live in the south, go to Mangaf. Mangaf is cheaper rent as of right now. Maboula is highly inflated for the most part.
Terrorist Attack in Jerusalem?
It was bound to happen, given these circumstances…
Police say the attacker was a Palestinian who lived in East Jerusalem who held Jerusalem identity papers. Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem have access to Jewish West Jerusalem and carry out nearly all construction work in the city.
